How can I tell what sizes your jewelry pieces are?

A picture can be deceiving as to the size of the piece you’re ordering. Ordering on the internet is fun but you really never know what you’re getting until you get it. Size matters. All measurements on my site are in American inches and fractions and some may be millimeters. If in doubt, email me for more details about the piece you’re interested in.

Bracelet sizes

Most women feel comfortable wearing a bracelet that is 7 to 7-1/2 inches in size, which is the standard size. The bracelet will hang between your hand and wrist bone, which is the most attractive position. Most all the bracelets I make are “standard” size. If the size is smaller or larger than the standard size the description will state the size.

Wrist sizing

Measure your wrist with a flexible, soft tape measure just below the wrist bone (below the wrist bone is the area between your hand and the wrist bone). This is your actual wrist size, not your bracelet size. Add .375” up to 1” to your actual wrist size, this is your approximate bracelet size. The more you add to your wrist size the more your bracelet will hang lower to your hand.

Standard Bracelet Sizes
  • 7” Average woman’s wrist
  • 8” Average man’s wrist or woman with large wrist
  • 9” For man with large wrist
Re-Sizing Silver Bracelets My silver bracelet bases (or cores) are thick gauge sterling silver wire. Once the bracelet core is made the bracelet is then assembled using a variety of materials which include more silver and beads. The ends are then formed and clasp is attached.

If your wrist is larger:
Most existing bracelets may be made larger by adding either a larger clasp or an extra ring to one of the ends depending on the design and size requested. If the bracelet requires a new core to accommodate your size wrist, I'll email you with an estimate first.

If your wrist is smaller:
Some existing bracelets may be made smaller by replacing the clasp with a smaller one, or by making the core smaller; depending on the size requested and the design of the bracelet.

Need it Re-Sized?

If you’re interested in re-sizing a silver bracelet please contact me and let me know. Provide the bracelet name, your actual wrist size, and the size bracelet you normally wear. I'll see what I can do to make you happy.

Depending on the size requested, the bracelet, and the work involved, there will be a minimum charge of $5.00 for sizing a sterling silver bracelet. Depending on the work, the fee may be higher; you'll be provided an estimate before the work is started.

Leather core bracelets:

Some existing leather bracelets may be sized for a fee of $5.00. Please contact me with details about which bracelet you’re interest in along with your normal bracelet size. I'll be happy to accommodate your request.

Necklaces Sizes

Necklace lengths are measured from the hollow at the base of your throat.

  • Choker 14-16 inch
This length falls perfectly around the base of the neck. This is a classic and versatile way to show off your signature pendants.

  • Princess 18-20 inch
Perfect length for pendants and to make an eye-catching look. This is the most common and classic length for most women. This length is great for both casual or business attire. If you’re not certain which length is right, this is an excellent choice.

  • Matinee 20-24 inch
A 20” is the next most popular length for both casual or business attire. This length is perfect to wear over your clothes or with a plunging neck line.

  • Opera Length 26-35 inch
This is a long necklace offering many options. It can be worn as a single strand or even doubled up as a choker length.

  • Rope over 35 inches
Measuring sometimes to 45 inches it hangs extremely low, sometimes just above the waist line. The versatile length allows for a transformation into a multi-strand necklace and bracelet combinations.

Men’s necklace length

Most men wear a necklace 1 to 2” below the hollow at the base of their throat or just at the hollow. To determine the length a neck measurement must be made and individual preference considered. Most men wear necklaces between 18” (standard) to 24”. The 18” necklace for a man usually falls at the hollow of his throat.
