Amazonite colors range from shades of light green to blue-greens and at times has light striations in it. Legend says the name of this stone may have come from the belief it was originally found in the Amazon River. It may have been named for the Amazon River howeve,r it is found in the United States, Russia, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Australia, and Namibia.
