Equestrian and animal lovers and everyone in-between will admire this handmade Sterling silver Viking knit bracelet for its clean and simple style. The horse head clasp is outstanding in design and accents the Viking knit bracelet admirably.

Viking knit is an extremely old, form of knitting wire into chains; these chains have been found as early as the 8th century A.D which was part of the Viking era. During hard times, not to say the Viking era was easy, pieces of these chains were used as currency. Viking knit isn’t a form of knitting as we typically know it; it’s actually a weaving process. In reality we can’t give the Vikings total credit for this technique because the exact same chain style has been found throughout the world.

The weaving process involves a considerable amount of time, effort and wire, be it silver, copper, bronze or craft wire. To complete a standard size necklace it may take up to 60 feet of wire and hours upon hours of work not to mention sore fingers.

WARNING ABOUT VIKING KNIT BRACELETS: As my customer you need to know about Viking knit bracelets. Viking knit takes hours to weave, is extremely strong and durable and will wear beautifully provided you don't put it into a vise grip to crush it.
Viking knit bracelets are beautiful but not all are comfortable to wear. Make sure the bracelet you buy is well balanced and hangs correctly on your wrist. You don't want to be adjusting your bracelet every minute; it becomes annoying. Make sure any beads or adornments to the bracelet are placed correctly and don't apply pressure to your wrist bone. A well balanced Viking knit bracelet should fit like a bangle or a slightly loose watch. Any focal bead or adornments shouldn't cause the bracelet to spin on your wrist.
Purchase a double knit Viking knit as they are much stronger and look nicer; this is my opinion and suggestions to my customers.
All Viking knit bracelets I make are well balanced, double knit for strength and are comfortable to wear. All adornments are carefully placed and tested so they will not rub or make the bracelet uncomfortable. If you have any questions about Viking knit bracelets or the process please don’t hesitate contacting me.
